Artiga Partners publishes original research, data, indices, analysis, articles, reports, charts, tools and other editorial resources focused on the outdoor industry and the wider outdoor economy.

We believe artificial intelligence can improve access to high-quality information and help users discover relevant sources. At the same time, original research, editorial work and proprietary datasets should not be treated as unrestricted training material.

This policy explains how content published by Artiga Partners may be accessed and used by artificial intelligence systems, automated tools and other machine-based technologies.

1. AI-assisted discovery and citation

Artiga Partners permits the reasonable use of publicly accessible content for:

  • search engine indexing;
  • AI-powered search and information discovery;
  • retrieval systems used to answer specific user queries;
  • summaries or references that clearly identify Artiga Partners as the original source;
  • limited quotation or extraction where necessary to identify, describe or link to the original material.

We welcome AI systems that help users discover Artiga research, provided that the use does not materially substitute for the original publication and, where technically possible, includes clear attribution or a link to the relevant page on artigapartners.com.

This permission applies only to content that is publicly accessible. It does not grant permission to access, extract or reproduce subscription-only, restricted or downloadable materials beyond the rights provided to the individual user.

2. AI training and model development

Unless expressly authorized in writing by Artiga Partners, content published on artigapartners.com may not be used for:

  • training, pre-training or fine-tuning artificial intelligence or machine-learning models;
  • testing, validating or benchmarking AI models where Artiga content becomes part of a reusable corpus or dataset;
  • creating or enriching training datasets;
  • systematic text and data mining for AI model development;
  • bulk scraping, extraction or automated collection of Artiga content;
  • building commercial databases, knowledge bases or datasets derived substantially from Artiga publications;
  • reproducing proprietary Artiga indices, datasets, methodologies or analytical frameworks as part of another commercial information product;
  • generating derivative or synthetic material designed to reproduce or substitute substantial portions of Artiga publications.

The fact that content is publicly accessible does not constitute permission for unrestricted ingestion into AI training datasets.

3. Text and data mining rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Artiga Partners expressly reserves its rights concerning reproduction and extraction for text and data mining purposes.

In particular, where applicable, Artiga Partners reserves the rights referred to in Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 on copyright and related rights in the Digital Single Market, including through website terms, machine-readable signals and other appropriate technical means.

Equivalent rights are reserved under applicable copyright, database, contract and related laws in other jurisdictions.

Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict uses that cannot legally be restricted under applicable law, including applicable statutory exceptions and limitations.

4. Artiga data, indices and research

Particular protection applies to Artiga’s proprietary research products, including datasets, market intelligence, indices, company tracking, analytical models, charts, compilations and downloadable publications.

Individual facts or publicly available information remain subject to the rights applicable to those facts and their original sources. However, Artiga’s original selection, organization, compilation, analysis, methodology, presentation, written interpretation and graphical representation of information may be protected to the extent provided by applicable law.

Access to an Artiga publication therefore does not imply permission to reproduce an Artiga dataset, reconstruct an index, replicate a proprietary methodology or create a competing database or information product from Artiga materials.

5. How Artiga uses artificial intelligence

Artiga Partners may use artificial intelligence and computational tools as part of its research and editorial workflow.

These tools may assist with tasks such as information discovery, data processing, coding, translation, classification, summarization, drafting or editing.

AI assistance does not replace editorial responsibility.

Our published research is developed within a human-led editorial process. Material factual claims, data and sources are reviewed as appropriate for the publication, and final decisions regarding analysis, interpretation and publication remain under human responsibility.

Our objective is not to automate judgment, but to use technology where it can improve the efficiency, breadth and quality of our research while preserving the independence and rigor of Artiga’s work.

6. Attribution and third-party sources

Artiga frequently works with information originating from companies, public institutions, industry organizations, regulatory bodies, financial disclosures and other primary and secondary sources.

Rights in third-party materials remain with their respective owners.

Any permission granted under this policy applies only to rights controlled by Artiga Partners and does not grant additional rights over third-party content referenced or cited in our publications.

7. Licensing and commercial use

Organizations developing AI models, datasets, research platforms, information services or commercial applications that wish to use Artiga content beyond the uses described above may request permission or discuss a licensing arrangement.

This may include access to proprietary datasets, indices, structured research, archives or other Artiga intelligence products.

8. Changes to this policy

Artificial intelligence technologies, technical standards and the applicable legal framework continue to evolve.

Artiga Partners may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our products, publishing practices, technology or applicable law.
